We sang Christmas Carols and drank hot cocoa. Today, we got to watch movies. Toy Story 3 and Shrek 4 were the choices. When we were watching the movies we got popcorn and Sprite.

This week we made gingerbread houses. We got out some frosting. Some graham crackers. And you can add some candy. You can buys some gingerbread marshmallows to put on the wall. It was fun making gingerbread houses.

I like the reading games on our new i-pad. I like the painting games too! The i-pad is so fun to play on.

Our popcorn started to grow. It is growing a lot. I can see the roots.

this week we made popcorn. We tried to make popcorn balls with it, but it didn't work. We also put popcorn in little baggies and it is going to grow into popcorn. The little stems are already coming. We made gourmet popcorn. My favorite was the cinnamon! YUMMY!!

we celebrated the 50th day of school. We did Hula Hooping, drag racing, we had a bubble gum contest and watched a movie, drive-in style.

We had a halloween party. We did a lot of fun stuff. I liked the games a lot. We also made monster toast. We got to tell a story about it on our voicethread. It was fun.

This week we learned about pumpkins. We battled Mrs. Duit's class with a game of pumpkin facts. We learned if a pumpkin will sink or float. Pumpkins will float. Ronald McDonald came to our school to tell us about books. He was really funny! It was a good week!

We went to the fire station this week. We saw fire trucks. We got to go outside to the playground to see the firemen squirting water. We have been learning about the letter A. We learned about the letter T too. When we were at home and we didn't have school, I was playing games.

I like playtime the best. I also like recess. This week we had an apple party. I liked the applesauce and the apple juice. I didn't like the apple pie very much.

I like going out for recess. I like playing with the toys. We have been learning about apples. They have seeds inside them and there are different kinds of apples.

YEAHHHH! It's almost time for school to start! I can't wait! I've got the room pretty much set up. All lockers and desks are marked with student names. I hope you and your parents received some school information from me in the mail this week. I will be starting back to school on Aug. 20th, so parents please feel free to email or call me with any questions beginning then. I hope to see you all at our back to school night on Aug. 24th from 3:00-4:00. Remember, it is a come and go time where you can drop off your supplies, see our room, meet me again (in case you forgot what I looked like), and pick up some important forms and papers that your parents need to fill out.

I was so excited to see so many of last year's and next years kindergarten students in the Little Miss Alden and Little Mr. Alden contest at Alden Days. I was especially glad to hear so many of the kiddos were excited about school at Alden! I'm hoping the Alden parade was fun for those students to also ride in. I'm sure I'll see more kindergarteners at Alden days this weekend.

I was just in our classroom and am excited about the drop ceiling that is going in. The room is a little dusty right now, but it's going to be nice when it is finished. I was excited to see some of last years kindergarten class and next years class in Iowa Falls at the Iowa Falls Idol during Lawn Chair night. It looked like you were having fun on the playground and listening to the music. Maybe some day, one of you will be in this contest and I'll be there to watch you! I hope you are all having a great summer and are staying cool in this warm weather. Summer school ends this Wednesday, then I probably won't be back in the school building until August.

Today I finished packing up our room for the summer. I am excited because over the summer, we are going to have our LCD projector hung from the ceiling. This will make it easier and less crowded in our room when we use our mimio. I sadly said goodbye for the summer to all my teacher friends. I am glad that I will see many of them over the summer and will get to do fun things with them! I hope you are enjoying your summer too. Remember, the Alden library has a fantastic summer reading program and the new and improved Alden pool will be opening on Sunday.

We had a great time at kindrgarten round-up. The kids were so excited to be here and so well behaved. Mrs. Moore and Mr. K were in the room along with Mrs. Meyer and Mrs. Duit. The class lists have been made and Mrs. Duit and myself have both sent out postcards to the students assigned to our classes for next year. We can't wait!!
